Join us for the 2013 Summer Reading Program, which will run from June 17th- July 31st.
The three themes will be “Dig into Reading” for children birth through fifth grade, “Reading Moves You Through Time and Space” for teens in 6th – 12th grade, and adults will be having a “Summer in Downton Abbey” ©BBC.
We’ll be kicking off Adult Summer Programming on June 5th with an English Tea at 5:30 pm in the Adult Services Department. Join us in costume (optional) and enjoy tea, scones and finger sandwiches as we will be watching the first episode of BBC’s hit TV Series that begins just before World War I. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 262.636.9217. We will continue through the series every Wednesday from 6-8 pm in the Adult Services Department.
On June 21st from 5 – 10 pm we will be hosting a Teen Lock-In to kick off the Teen Summer Reading Program (grades 6 – 12). We will be hosting activities centered on the Dr. Who series, including a photo booth, costume contest and pizza. Come dressed as your favorite character from the show and be entered into the costume contest. In person registration is required. Please register at the Youth Services Desk.
This summer’s Storywagon series begins on June 20th and will feature “Creepy Crawly Zoo.” There will be two performances one at 10 am and another at 1:30 pm. The other performances will be June 27th the Puppet Story Theater, July 11th sing and dance with Duke Otherwise, and July 18th Magician Scott Obermann.
The Library’s Summer Storytime session begins on June 18th and runs through July 24th. They will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 am in the Youth Services Department. Open play time will be held right after storytimes in the Peg Martin Room. If you have any questions about storytimes please call 262.636.9245.
